- How long has the inspector/company been in business?
- Are they even set-up as a business?
- Is it a full-time business? A full-time business may offer more convenient scheduling and quicker responses.
- Does the inspector have experience on all types of RVs?
- How many inspections has the inspector performed? 10? 50? Hundreds?
- Are they insured for RV inspections? Will they offer proof of insurance?
- Have they performed inspections at dealer facilities? RV manufacturing/repair facilities? Private seller locations? FEMA emergency/disaster locations?
- Has the inspector/business received any service awards?
- Is the inspector merely "looking" at the RV or actually "thoroughly inspecting and testing" the various systems and components?
- Is the person performing the inspection as an independent, 3rd party, unbiased inspector or do they work for the seller?
Certifications / Training - It Counts!
- Is the inspector specifically trained and certified to perform inspections/testing on complex RV systems?
- Is the inspector a NRVIA Certified inspector? MASTER certified?
- Does the inspector have RVDA/RVIA certification as a technician of ANY level?
- Does the inspector perform yearly, RV related, continuing education?
- Is the inspector specifically trained to pull fluid samples for lab analysis?
- Has the inspector received additional training from various RV component manufacturers?
Transparency
- Does the inspector/company provide comprehensive info on their website?
- Does the inspector/company even have a website for you to review?
- Does the inspector/company offer you to review their Points of Inspection before hiring them?
- Does the inspector/company allow you to be present for the inspection?
- Does the inspector/company have publicly posted client reviews?
- Are their client reviews highly rated and consistent?
- Does the inspector/company adhere to any type of Code of Ethics?
Communication
- Is the inspector/company quick to respond to you?
- Are you dealing directly with the inspector/business owner?
- Are you allowed to even speak to the inspector if you have follow-up questions?
- Will the inspector/company take their time in speaking with you and answering your questions?
- Does the inspector/company offer timely, 50 - 100+ page comprehensive, computer generated reports, with photos, documenting and rating the condition and function of the items inspected, as well as a wealth of other valuable information? Or, are their reports a 1 or 2 page checklist with little information?

- Does the inspector/company offer any other RV related services such as fluid analysis, walk-through/instructional services, repair verification inspections, safety inspections?

- How wide is their service area? How far are they willing travel?
- How much time is expected to be spent performing a comprehensive RV inspection?
